Michele Riggsbee - Thistledown Domestic Creations

I'm originally from Michigan and have lived in North Carolina since 1996.  I'm married and have 3 amazing grown daughters!  I am also "mom" to 2 precious dogs and 1 sweet kitty.  Plus I have two "grand" dogs that I absolutely adore.

I love working with chalk paint, decoupage, crafts of all kinds, and anything DIY. I don't mind getting my hands dirty on projects, that's part of the fun of creating!  My home is filled with my favorite things.  I collect anything made from birch wood, as well as nature inspired art, vintage linens, and many other antiques and vintage farmhouse finds.  All of these treasures help to make my house a home.

In March 2017 I was diagnosed with breast cancer, but after 15 rounds of radiation, I am now considered cancer free!  There are blog posts about my journey as I hope to give many others encouragement as we go down this road together.

In July, my husband and I purchase almost 40 acres of heavily wooded land that we just got certified as a tree farm.  We are super excited to start this new adventure!  There will be blog posts about becoming tree farmers and of course about building our farmhouse!

If you are looking for some help in updating your home, I offer a design consultation service (within 100 miles of Raleigh).  I can help you select wall colors, tiles, solid surface material for counters, etc.  I also provide general decorating ideas and tips to help you create the home of your dreams.

Thanks to my many years of experience in the natural stone industry, I learned a lot about kitchen and bath design and color selection.   If you are interested, please contact me through my blog.  I'd be happy to help you!

I hope you will join me through all of life's ups and downs as there is never a dull moment in my house.  Just follow along and you'll see what I mean!  Please visit my blog at www.thistledowndomesticcreations.com where you can sign up to receive my newsletter letting you know each time I have a new post.

I look forward to helping you make your house a home!

Thanks so much, Michele
